I'm grateful Ayurveda doesn't have any rules, or any notion of what is good or bad for happiness (sukhum/dukhum). One of the most effective ways of promoting Ayurveda in this country is by criticizing those silly Abrahamic faiths for studying what is suitable, or unsuitable, for happiness. This is a great article to make sure Ayurveda is only used by people who agree with your politics.

Sensing your sarcasm, the column is meant to provoke thinking, not agreement or widesweeping conversion. Ayurveda does indeed have guidelines for alignment with one's nature. It is not called "good or bad." Sukhum-dukhum are commonly mistranslated as happiness and sadness, but they refer to 'su' in the 'khaa' -- alignment with the avyakta and with the non-material and ethereal space that is most of the atoms that exist as your Being. Those 'silly Abrahamic faiths' study without an inner compass. Those who find the true compass by going inside transcend religion. Am pretty sure you know all this, but the sarcasm felt like you wanted discussion.
